Prof. dr. Yati Soenarto S, SpA(K)., Ph.D.

Prof. Yati Soenarto has been called the mother of modern paediatrics in Indonesia. Since graduating in Medicine from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Indonesia, she has pursued a quest to improve the health of the nation’s children and build paediatric capacity in the country’s medical workforce. Yati Soenarto has been actively involved in the field of Bioethics and Humanities since the mid-1990s when she studied at Harvard Medical School as a Freeman fellow. Yati Soenarto has made valuable contributions to the work of a wide range of boards, committees and organisations the world over but most particularly throughout Indonesia and Asia. Her expertise is sought frequently for presentations at conferences and symposia.

Prof. Dr.dr. Soenarto Sastrowijoto, SpTHT-KL(K)

Prof. Soenarto was the Dean of School of Medicine, UGM (1991 – 1997), as well as Head of the Department of Medical Education, School of Medicine, UGM from 1999 to 2003. He was Vice-Chairperson of the Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (IGBC), UNESCO, Paris (2003-2005), and a Member of IBC (International Bioethics Committee), UNESCO, Paris, 2006-2011 and Member of Indonesian National Bioethics Commission, 2004 – 2008; 2008-2013. He was Chair for Asia Pacific Bioethics Education Consortium, 2014 – 2018. He served as the Director of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities (CBMH), School Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, 1998 – 2018, and is now member of the Advisory Board.

Prof. dr. Sofia Mubarika Haryana, M.Med.Sc, Ph.D

Prof. Sofia was a renowned scientist with prominent contributions in translational research. Her research specified on biomolecular chemistry, and she had authored numerous publications in that area. Recently, she and her team just launched RI-GHA, a tool used for COVID-19 screening which was fully devised in Indonesia. In the moment, she acted as a member of Advisory Board of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities.

 

dr. Nur Azid Mahardinata, MD is Co-PI of the UNESCO Chair on Bioethics, Universitas Gadjah Mada. He is involved in the development of Bioethics and Medical Humanities struggle since 2000 and become a member of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities since the beginning. His main interest is in Healthcare Ethics, especially in the field of clinical and hospital ethics. Currently, he is developing Hospital Ethics Audit System in Indonesia.

dr. Wika Hartanti MIH 

 

Nabila Puspakesuma, SPsi, MSc, serves as one of the Project Officers of the UNESCO Chair on Bioethics, Universitas Gadjah Mada, after joining the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities in 2019. She has a background in psychology and global mental health with keen interests in the social and ethical implications of advanced technologies in mental health, as well as other issues surrounding mental health in general.
